Since Hurricane Katrina, I have found my energies and interest more and more focused on my volunteer work with the Red Cross, putting in a lot of time in the staffing office at the Oregon Trail Chapter. When the opportunity appeared to take a job there, I found that my interest was engaged and elected to take that position. I still do occasional home visits to fix computers but am no longer trying to maintain a web design business.

Victoria Short Baum Introduction

As we are supposed to do in this new day and age, I have changed careers a couple of times since I finished my formal education, although at the time it seemed more like a logical progression rather than an abrupt change. I started as a lawyer, moved into a bureaucracy, morphed into computer consulting and web design, and have now moved on the my current job working at the American Red Cross Oregon Trial Chapter in the staffing office.
